The Roundhouse Restaurant, classical elegance

Contemporary South African and European cuisine served in a refined setting.
For more than two centuries, the Roundhouse has looked out over the Cape across from Lion's Head.
First a gatehouse then a hunting lodge, this rustic rotunda is now a very popular restaurant. Its interiors combine 18th-century flooring, Nguni chairs by Philippe Starck, and bay windows opening onto the ocean. The kitchen honours the freshest South African ingredients with European- and African-inspired dishes. A sommelier selects the appropriate wine for your dishes from a cellar composed of great local wines.
Lunch and cocktails at dusk are taken in the shade of pomegranate trees, on the “Rumbullion” terrace. The name means ‘joyful moment' in 16th-century English slang. And indeed it is.
